Our producers
When it comes to choosing producers and their wines, we at Djarfi believe it is important to visit all the vineyards and get to know their priorities and working methods in person. Tasting takes place on site and, if certain conditions are met, a trial shipment is sent to Iceland as a result.
When in Iceland, Djarfi has a group of wine experts and other wine enthusiasts who examine each wine and taste and evaluate its quality.
When the results are known, smaller shipments are ordered to test the market's reaction before embarking on bulk purchases.
Djarfi's customers can therefore trust that in our products selection there are wines that have gone through a strict process and the quality is guaranteed.

Wine from Sardinia
"If you want to try something unique"
Djarfi specializes in wines from Sardinia.
Sardinian wines are known in Italy for their unique flavors made from native grapes such as Cannonau and Vermentino, which thrive in the island's diverse landscape. The unique red grape Cannonau di Sardegna and the fresh white grape Vermentino di Sardegna, together with the unique landscape, soil and climate and traditional winemaking techniques, contribute to the distinctive and famous character of Sardinian wines. This, combined with the island's winemakers' passionate commitment to their cultural heritage, makes Sardinian wines stand out on the Italian wine scene.

About Djarfi
Oskar Tryggvi Svavarsson
-
My interest in wines from Sardinia was sparked by chance when my wife and I were invited to Sardinia for our birthday in the fall of 2023.
-
There we, among other things, participated in a wine tasting at Audarya's vineyard, which had such an impact on me that I fell for their wines and envisioned that these wines had a full mission for Iceland.
-
Then the ball started rolling and Djarfi ehf. came into being.
-
Today's goal is to familiarize myself with Sardinian wines, and as the year progresses, I expect to add more Sardinian wines to Djarfi's product range.
-
I am new to the wine business, but for the last almost 30 years I have worked in aviation and today I am a captain at Icelandair. I therefore travel a lot around the world and have gotten to know wines from various parts of the world.
-
I enjoy new challenges in life and look forward to tackling this one.
-
Last spring I completed Level 2 in wines from WSET in London.
